Revisions and reworks of drawings are unavoidable as part of Engineering. As a result, progress measurement and reporting must be able to manage these cycles effectively.
In most instances, planners fall into one of two common practices:
The planner does not change the progress of the drawing until the rework progress "catches up" to the previous reported percentage.
The planner changes progress according to the rework status, often causing percentages to drop significantly.
Less experienced teams often fail to prepare mitigation plans for these situations. This creates a stressful environment that adversely affects the long-term productivity of the team.
