As you do know, Schedule Resource Loading is a cumbersome and time consuming process that requires data, calculations and capturing the results into the Schedule. Owing to the following reasons, the situation gets unbearable:
- On many Projects, due to contractual constraints there is limited time to prepare and submit a resource loaded baseline Schedule
- Client requests to load skill sets, commodity, BOQ and cost
- If the team has limited experience and the seniors have to train and teach them, in the limited time available, to do it correctly, that adds more stress to the entire team
- Development of a resource pool with material and UOM
- Developing Norm tables and use them in calculation
- Calculating the Budgeted Units for all resource types per activity
- Capturing all the calculated results into the Schedule
